Carolyn Bischoff just joined the Tannery Pond Center Board, after serving previously on the TPC Futures Committee. She has visited the North Creek area every summer since her one month old baptism, performed by her great grandfather, William Hudnut. Raised in Westchester County, N.Y., Carolyn went on to get her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Literature from SUNY College at Purchase, followed by further study at Juilliard. Her first music job, was working as Assistant to the Booking Manager, at Avery Fisher Hall in NYC. She then moved to Hamburg, Germany where she performed as soprano soloist in concerts and recitals, including Sciveni in Le Cinesi and the Brahms Requiem at the Music Hall there. After her stay in Germany, she returned to Manhattan for 18 years. Carolyn has resided in the North Creek area since 2010. Most recently, she has performed various roles in the Gem Radio Theater Productions “It’s a Wonderful Life” and as “Opera Witch”. She has sung Belshazzar’s Feast and Beethoven’s Ninth with the Glens Falls Symphony and the Adirondack Singers. She currently sings with the North Country Singers. Some of her roles included: Gilda in Rigoletto, Michaela in Carmen, Princess Ida at the Bardavon Opera House, Melissa in Princess Ida, Laurie in Oklahoma, and Marion in the Music Man. Carolyn stays involved in the community here, previously serving as Executive Director for Upper Hudson Musical Arts and and Creative Healing Connections, and as a former Board member and Treasurer for the Adirondack Community Outreach Center.
