ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

Curious about where our neighbors had traveled, the Widlund Gallery committee invited anyone with a connection to the Gore Mountain Region to submit art from or inspired by their travels Beyond the Blue Line. In other words, beyond the boundary of the Adirondack Park.

And, boy, have they traveled! From the Grand Canyon to India, Oregon to Croatia, Alaska to Cuba, New Mexico to Ireland, and so much more, our neighbors share with us their intrepid spirit and insatiable curiosity. While most are currently rooted at home in the Adirondacks, in this exhibit, they share stories of discovery, enlightenment, delight, awe, and exploration. They describe travel as a source of rejuvenation and learning, a time to connect with old friends and make new ones. They are dazzled and humbled by what they have seen.

The show includes photos, paintings, carvings, sacred objects, and much more.
