Tannery Pond Center presents our Workshop: Basic Land Navigation by Pete Burns

Location: This course will take place at Minder Lodge & the Ski Bowl at Gore Mountain.
Max Class Size: 12
Minimum Age to Participate: 12 Years Old
Course Description: This course will be a basic map and compass course covering topographical map reading and interpretation, navigation and how to integrate with your handheld gps / phone app if wanted. Morning will be a classroom session followed by an afternoon outside putting our skills to the test.
Details:
9 AM - 12 PM - Classroom Instruction
12-12:30 PM - Lunch - please bring your own bagged lunch!
12:30- 3 or 4 pm - Testing your skills outside!
What to Bring/Wear:
Please bring a compass if you have your own. If you do not have one, we will provide one.
Bring your phone.
We will provide topographical maps.
Please wear clothing/gear appropriate for the weather:
Rain gear as needed
Hiking books
Layers if cool
Bug spray as desired
