The Upper Hudson Valley Watercolor Society was started in 1989 by a group of artists of the Adirondack Region. They met monthly as a social outlet to draw on each other’s strengths as watercolorists for inspiration, ideas and encouragement. Through the years, UHVWS has grown to include over 70 artists, drawing members from all over the North Country. Membership in the society is not juried and includes artists from all abilities, from the newcomer to watercolor to award-winning professionals, illustrators, graphic designers, and art instructors.
The Watercolor Society meets monthly, offering its membership instructional programs and workshops, group painting sessions, member critiques, and overall fellowship supporting anyone with an interest in watercolor. The Society’s monthly newsletter keeps members informed about society news as well as arts listings of local and regional interest.
