Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program presents the: Adirondack Invasive Species Summit
Thursday, October 10 | 9 AM - 4 PM
Join the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program at Tannery Pond Community Center on Thursday, Oct. 10, for a day-long conversation on invasive species and climate change and how three gene technologies can help us advance our work. Topics covered will include invasive species and climate adaptation, New York’s Climate Impacts Assessment and Adirondack forest concerns, an introduction to environmental DNA (eDNA) including ways to evaluate the data and uses of the technology, using RNA to develop innovative treatments for Phragmites, and how genomics can help in the search for hemlock-woolly-adelgid resistant hemlock trees.
