Artist’s Statement: Painting and making art is a way of life for me. This constant need to create is enslaving and, in a way, it becomes an addiction. Endless quest and striving to do better but at the same time understanding that complete satisfaction will end the process, makes us work harder and harder with never ending desire to create. Relentless struggle to achieve that relevant perfection is a part of the joy sparkled by incredible beauty of Adirondack Mountains- never ending inspiration.

Eva Kusmirek Stamper

Eva Kusmirek Stamper is a Polish born artist who came to United States forty seven years ago and settled in New York City where she studied Art at Hunter College and Art Students Ligue. She moved from NYC to Adirondacks in 2018 and permanently settled in North River in 2021. The subject of her painting is broad, it includes figurative art/portraiture, still life and focusing lately on landscape. In Eva’s words, “It’s hard not to be infatuated and seduced by a beauty of Adirondacks, it is a never-ending inspiration for any artist. It opens your eyes wider to its magnificence”. Eva studied with artist like Emily Mason and Dan Thompson and lately with local watercolorist Jan Palmer. She paints in multi mediums, it is either oil, watercolors or pastels, “I go from one way of painting to another, always discovering something new in the process, always learning which never ends.”
